FEEDBACKBODY PIERCING, JAN. 1, 2001Hey, my name is Mandiy and i have 21 body piercings and a tattoo. First of all, there's nothing parents can do about piercings, once your kid is 16 he's of legal age to go and get one himself. So just sit back and enjoy the ride. Second of all, if you don't like it, kick your kid out, I'm sure he would be much happier not having to live with you anyways. Parents shouldn't be so strict on kids. My piercings are 3 in my bottom lip, my tongue, tongue web, septum, both sides of my nose, nosebridge, eyebrows 4 times, nape (back of my neck), both nipples, 2 hand webs(that peice of skin between your index finger and thumb) and my navel, and my ear lobes are stretched to 22mm. I don't think people should judge people just because of their masochistic tendencies. TEENS SPEAK OUT: WHAT PARENTS DO RIGHT AND WRONG, DECEMBER 2000 Well, this is a well written article, and as a teenager I believe that standards like this will definitely help the relationship between parents & teens. Once again I want to thank u guys for this article. I sure will appreciate it if parents would try to apply this on us.... Chisom BODY PIERCING, 3-17-00Thank you for publishing a non-judgmental and informative article. People need to realize that you can be infected with AIDS and HepatitIs in any situation that there is blood or bodily fluid involved, whether it be at your doctor or dentists office, the hospital or a body piercing salon or tattoo studio. As your article stated, do your homework, educate yourself and thoroughly understand the process, aftercare and implications of your chosen piercing. In my state of Florida there are strict guidelines for body piercing and I for one am very relieved there are. It will never keep all of the "hackers" out of business but any professional should be able to tell you, or give you a copy of those laws for you to review. Thanks again, Dawn Esposito, owner of Needle Craft Piercing Salon, Pensacola, FL. SUGGESTIONS, 3-17-00I think it's great that you have a website
devoted exclusively to I do have a couple of suggestions about the design of the website - themenu on the left is too close together for middle-aged (parents of teens!) eyes and motor skills. When i tried to click on "issues" I might hit "news" instead. Also, one of the articles listed on a blue
strip on the side led me out of the website to a New York Times
article and I couldn't use the back button on my browser to return
to your website. This can be remedied by using frames, but that
can be a pain I've been reading parent-teen for a couple of years (?) and generally enjoy the content. I think it should be updated more than once a month. It seems like this could be done by not only producing a new issue monthly, but by scanning or otherwise reproducing all of the articles from the past print editions. Also, the Backpack items could be added
as they come in. I would also like to see more summer activities
for teens profiled and updated frequently. These could be Backpack
items placed on For example, did you know there's a great and inexpensive summer program for h.s.'ers put on by the Academy of Art College in S.F. @ http://www.academyart.edu/sumartx.html? Good luck, |
